Man how I love high school football season:

My attaboy award tonight is a no-brainer. No matter how good we all looked tonight,I gotta give it up to the Rebels from Sullivan South. I don't have to say why,now do I folks? Not only do you have to bury a friend and teammate way too soon, but you play a good Greenville team, and beat them with all that's gone on since last Friday-mad respect. You guys did #54 proud, and I'm sure there were tears when you lined up with 10 to start the game.

Speaking of burying too soon, and tears: Here was another opening night, and once again just before kickoff, this ol' boy glanced skyward for a bit before it began(I do this every year),thinking about my good friend Ole Tob. This was your time buddy, and I miss you much. Just as I started to look back to the field, some white and blue baloons were released from the TW crowd, and this feller has to admit that he got a little misty-eyed. It was no surprise to me when I heard that the boys from GC upset the Blues tonight. It was only fitting.

You think your life is bad? You could have been a Lee County school hosting a football game tonight. 83-8? Geez!!! The TRIBE and the Vikings came a calling, brought wagonloads of agony with 'em,and burned those villages to the ground. LPD kicked booty, now Pound-don't let us down tomorrow. An unbeaten week for the LPD is always good. When I went to watch Clintwood play Franklin at Salem, I wrote the words LPD PRIDE on my Kelly hat in permanent ink. I debated doing that in temp ink,but said to myself "This is what it is all about, and I'm so ****ed proud to be a member of the LPD",so it stayed. Tonight as I was leaving the restroom at halftime,a Pioneer fan said to me "That hat right there is what it is all about. It's why you all where you are,and it's why we are getting killed". I couldn't help but tell him that we are picked to finish 4th in the LPD this year, and he said "You gotta strap 'em on extra tight when you play an LPD team". That made me feel good friends. So for those who don't know me in person,if you see a good-sized feller with a red K 2008 state champons hat with LPD PRIDE on the back, say hello strangers. Take care friends.
